My child support order is from a state which requires support to the age of 21.

I think we are usually talking about the state of New York, where child support continues until the child’s 21st birthday. Even if you are in Florida, and child support is paid through a State of Florida registry, NY law still controls. If your order was entered in New York, and support is being paid to the mother, it continues to the age of 21 unless the child has another circumstance terminating the support under NY law. If support is being paid back to any state as part of reimbursement of welfare or another type of governmental assistance, then the support is only due for the period in which a healthy, non-disabled child could have received welfare, which is to the age of 18 in every state at this time
